Gigawatt PF-2 EVO + LC-2 EVO Power Cord

PF-2 EVO is the improved version of the advanced filtering power strip designed to power and protect Hi-Fi audio and video systems.

The strip is made using high quality components. The distortion is filtered in a RLC filtering block. It is built using metalized polyester capacitors with low inductance and an IP (Iron Powder) filtering core.

The EVO version uses the highest quality capacitors manufactured by Miflex according to Gigawatt specifications.

All components of the filters, are mounted with silver solder on a massive, double-sided printed circuit board with very large cross-sections.

The strip doesn’t have typically protective elements, such as fuses or thermal fuses, which throttling the free flow of current to the protected circuits have a negative effect on the sound..

Protection against overvoltage and power surges is guaranteed by a multi-stage protection circuit, composed of plasma sparks and new generation of UltraMOV varistors.

Those elements, working together with a well designed, modern power grid, warrant a complex protection against overcurrent and overvoltage.

The PF-2 EVO uses an innovative current distribution system, being a proprietary development of the company.

It is based on massive power distribution bars of 2nd generation, made of polished, high purity, cathode copper slabs (Cu-ETP).

This system distributes the current directly to each pair of output sockets, using crimped and screw-tightened connections and GigaWatt Powerlink inner cabling with a cross-section of 4 QMM.

The use of the star wiring topology and the high conductance and massive cross-section of about 30 QMM of each of the bars warrants an equal and stable

power distribution regardless of the load on any of the strip’s outputs.

The PF-2 EVO power strip is equipped with six high quality power sockets GigaWatt G-040 Schuko, designed and manufactured by the company.

The brass connectors of those sockets were silver plated at the factory, without the usage of intermediary metals, like copper or nickel, which could introduce unfavorable series resistance and voltage loss.

The increased area of contact and the thick layer of silver guarantee sure contact with the plug pins. The sockets were additionally subdued to cryogenic modification and a demagnetizing process.

In order to effectively protect children, the G-040 sockets were equipped with integrated anti-surge shutters (increased protection against touching, conform with VDE 0620).

The PF-2 EVO is also available with outlets of type NEMA 5-20R, used in North America and some Asian countries, and with Australian outlets of type AS/NZS 3112.

All internal elements of the power strip are closed in a double metal chassis. This enclosure is a perfectly tight shield against RFI and EMI noise.

The strip is also equipped with a LED indicating proper operation of the device and a circuit indicating wrong polarization of the power line or wrongly connected grounding.

The strip is also equipped with a high quality IEC socket, allowing their user to connect any power cable. The power strip is equipped with the power cord PowerSync with 1.5m length.

To fully utilize the maximum potential of the PF-2 EVO we recommend the usage of the LC-2 EVO  or PowerSync ULTRA power cable.

GigaWatt LC-2 EVO is a high quality power cable, designed to power Hi-Fi and High-End audio and video systems. This cable is also the equipment of GigaWatt power strips and power conditioners.

Cable wires are made up from seven solid core conductors, with 1,5 mm2 cross-section, 99,997% pure copper (OFHC C10100), additionally subdued to an annealing process, which allows them to gain uniform structure and better conductance.

The wires are arranged in a weave with newly developed geometry. This guarantees a steady, unthrottled current flow and does not allow any interference to appear at the output end.

On the other hand, its comparably high intrinsic capacitance, which is caused by the cable geometry and the characteristics of the dielectric, stands in for great filtering and damping capabilities for a wide range of interference.

The insulation of the conductors was made of a new, flexible  material PK90AT28 with a very low dielectric constant. The outer jacket is made of a soft insulating material GA 70AT03, which suppresses undesirable vibrations.

Additional protection of the cable is a light grey, wear-resistant plastic braid.

The wires of the cable are protected by a static shield, made from laminated aluminium foil with an internal, copper flow wire.

The tight construction of the shield covers 100% of the surface of the cable, perfectly protecting against all kinds of external interference.

In addition the shield prevents the appearance and spread of internal interferences as well as returns parasitic currents to the ground wire.

The cable is equipped with high quality, Rhodium plated plugs with high connection surface, which allows for steady current flow from the power grid.

The contacts of both plugs were de-magnetized. All conductors are connected without the use of solder, and the connections to the plugs are bolted, what guarantees high reliability and optimal functionality.

This cable is also available in high current version, LC-2HC EVO as standard equipment of the flagship power conditioner PC-4 EVO+.

The cable is then terminated with a PowerCon 32 Amp plug, capable of transferring stable current of 32 A.

The LC-2 EVO is a power cord, which great capabilities bring an immediate, and clearly noticeable, improvement of the sound and picture reproduction in audio and video devices.
