Estelon: When Acoustic Science Becomes Art – The Story Behind the Ultimate High-End Loudspeakers
The Birth of a Vision in the Soviet Era
The story of Estelon does not begin in a state-of-the-art laboratory, but decades ago, during the Soviet era. The founder and chief designer, Alfred Vassilkov, was a young boy with an insatiable passion for music. He spent his time dismantling old radios,
adjusting their components in an effort to improve sound quality and make the music sound richer and more lifelike. This childhood passion turned into a lifelong calling. Alfred pursued academic studies in electroacoustics at the University of St. Petersburg,
laying the solid theoretical foundation for what was to come.

25 Years of Experience & Over 100 Speaker Models
Before the name "Estelon" was even born, Alfred spent over 25 years at the heart of the audio industry. He worked as a lead designer and independent consultant, participating in the creation of more than 100 different speaker models for other companies.
However, as the years passed, he realized that traditional materials (like wood or MDF) and classic square cabinets imposed insurmountable limits on sound. He dreamed of building the best loudspeaker in the world, with absolutely no compromises in materials
or design.
The Sunday Morning That Changed High-End Audio
The dream took shape in 2010. One Sunday morning, while enjoying breakfast with his family in Estonia, Alfred announced his decision to take the big leap. Instead of selling his revolutionary designs to other manufacturers, he decided to bring them to life himself.
With the unwavering support of his two daughters, Alissa and Kristiina, the Estelon company was founded that very evening.
The Secret of Estelon: Marble-Based Composite
Estelon's greatest innovation lies in its speaker cabinet material. Rejecting wood, Alfred researched for 5 years to develop an exclusive marble-based composite material. This material (crushed marble mixed with special bonding resins) allows the cabinet to be
cast into complex geometric shapes. Why is this so crucial for the sound?
-
No Parallel Surfaces: The curved design eliminates standing waves inside the cabinet.
-
Absolute Inertia: The material boasts immense density and weight, completely eradicating micro-resonances.
-
Holographic Soundstage: The absence of sharp edges prevents sound diffraction, allowing the speakers to visually "disappear" into the room, leaving only the music behind.

Inspired by Nature & Globally Recognized
The design of Estelon speakers—wide at the base to accommodate bass volume and slender at the top—is 100% dictated by acoustic physics, but simultaneously inspired by the lush, enchanting forests of Estonia. This marriage of engineering and art has earned
Estelon top global honors, such as the Red Dot Design Award and multiple CES Innovation Awards.
The Element Audio Experience
Today, Estelon doesn't just build speakers; they create acoustic sculptures that grace the living rooms of top collectors worldwide. Whether it's the entry-level masterpiece Estelon Aura, the imposing Estelon Forza, or the absolute Estelon Extreme Mkii, every speaker
is assembled and tuned by hand.
At Element Audio, we are proud to represent this unique vision. We invite you to contact us to design the system of your dreams and experience the magic of Estelon firsthand.
The Experts' Verdict: The AVMentor Review
When a loudspeaker of this caliber passes through the doors of one of the strictest and most acclaimed testing labs in Greece, the verdict carries special weight. Dimitris Stamatakos from AVmentor.gr analyzed the Estelon YB Mk II in depth, confirming that Alfred Vassilkov's design is not merely an aesthetic exercise, but deeply substantial engineering.
Here are some of the highlights we singled out from his comprehensive review:
"When you hear 'three-way floorstander', you prepare for something big. Often, large and awkward, something that will impose itself on the room with its physical presence... None of this applies to the YB. It disappears into the room, and while it doesn't go unnoticed, it is one of the most eye-friendly speakers I have ever seen. The Estelon YB Mk II wins you over at first sight."
Regarding the architecture and the speaker's innovative cabinet, he notes:
"The YB is the epitome of 'non-parallel sides'... the cabinet is formed by what resembles spherical intersections, where you cannot discern a single straight edge. This, apart from the highly interesting aesthetics, lays the foundation for a construction with very limited standing waves, particularly good rigidity characteristics, and excellent control over diffraction."
