Barbra Streisand - Live at the Bon Soir / Impex Records

Greenwich Village, New York City, in the early 1960s: At the tender age of 18, the then unknown Brooklyn-born Barbra Streisand played a series of gigs at the jazz club "Bon Soir" - and won over audiences and critics alike.

Sixty years, almost two hundred million records sold and various awards later, the evenings recorded in 1962 by Columbia Records have now finally been made available to the public. Twenty-four tracks, personally selected

by Barbra Streisand, showcase the icon's early style; from vocally interpreted jazz standards and sensitive ballads to humorous cabaret songs. The audiophile release of these historic recordings as a Hybrid SACD by Impex

Records (in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment) invites listeners to dive deep into the atmosphere of the legendary concerts and experience the stirring talent of a century-old artist in her early days.

To achieve the best possible fidelity, engineer Paul Blakemore transferred the original three-track session tapes into high-resolution 96/24-bit digital files, which were mixed by Jochem van der Saag. To preserve the warmth of

the original recordings, Blakemore used an all-analog signal processing chain for the mastering. Accompanying the Hybrid SACD is a 32-page booklet containing exciting Streisand recollections, performance images, and information

about the recording and production.
