Get a front row seat at New York's Top of the Gate jazz club! The recording captures two complete sets by the Bill Evans Trio with bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Marty Morell on 23 October 1968 at Art D'Lugoff's legendary club.
The two 45 RPM LPs capture the intimate atmosphere of the evening in a way that literally puts the listener on stage. Thanks to skilful microphone placement, the usual crowd pleasers of the time are kept in the background and the
focus is on the great playing of the young trio. The musicians had only just found each other, but the chemistry was already absolutely right; no wonder that years of collaboration followed. Evans fans can look forward to early recordings
of some of the classics in his repertoire, mastered on Nagra equipment by René Laflamme.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
