"All Or Nothing At All" is a compilation of twelve of the best songs Billie Holiday released on the Verve label in the mid-1950s. Her collaboration with producer Norman Granz ended in January 1957.
On this collection, originally released in 1955, Holiday shows once again why she was able to get so close to her listeners. She subtly allows emotions to flow in and out of her interpretations, both
on individual tracks and over the course of the set. In this way she reflects the complex emotional states to which we are all constantly subjected. For Nat Hentoff, who wrote the liner notes, this is
why you can listen to Holiday's albums over and over again and still discover new meanings. She is accompanied by a first-rate band, including Harry "Sweets" Eddison, Barney Kessel, Ben Webster
and Jimmy Rowles. A jewel in mono.
