Released in 1997, “I Thought About You” by Pennsylvania musician Christy Baron was the first of three albums that the fantastic jazz singer recorded for Chesky Records. The album was recorded live at St. Peter's Episcopal
Church in Manhattan—a space with particularly warm acoustics – and showcases Baron's lush, velvety voice, framed by Cliff Korman's eloquent piano, David Finck's virtuoso double bass and Payton Crossley's finely nuanced drums.
Baron's repertoire combines evergreens from the Great American Songbook (“Misty”) with jazz standards such as Thelonious Monk's “Round Midnight” and soul classics such as Bill Withers' “Ain't No Sunshine.” We are delighted to
present this special gem in the Chesky discography as a new LP edition – for the first time using the superior One-Step process, pressed on 180-gram vinyl (33 RPM)!
