“The LowSwing Sessions” is a wonderful collaboration between the British singer-songwriter and artist and the producer, composer, arranger and label head of LowSwing Records Guy Sternberg: Reema's British neo-folk approach meets
Guy's avant-garde, jazz and classical-influenced arrangements. The result is a dark, captivating sound, with Reema's ethereal, emotional singing lighting the way. The songs range from large ensembles with up to 14 musicians, including
trombones, trumpets, cello, flute, viola, bass clarinet, Wurlitzer, piano, Hammond organ and a full band, to Reema and her guitar. The energy between the musicians in the room created a very special atmosphere, which was captured
directly on tape. The artwork for the LP was hand-drawn, painted and collaged by Reema herself, with the same love that went into the music.
The strictly limited first edition (2017) sold out very quickly. The same applies to the second edition from 2021. Due to popular demand, LowSwing Records decided to release a third edition of the album, which was originally recorded in three
magical sessions (2016 and 2017) live at the LowSwing studio in Berlin – purely analog, with minimal overdubs and driven by respect and passion for puristic recording techniques. The sonically excellent, high-quality LP was mastered at
Emil Berlin Studios, cut at 45 RPM and pressed at Optimal Media.
LowSwing Records is a young record label dedicated to the love of music in analog format. LowSwing productions are recorded and mixed on analog tape and then cut directly to vinyl. The heart of the label is the LowSwing Recording Studio in Berlin
(www.lowswing.de), where owner Guy Sternberg devotes himself to exciting new artists with the production values of yesteryear.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
