between Brazilian singer Rosa Passo and jazz bassist legend Ron Carter does not stick to the usual bossa nova formula. The songs, which are sparsely orchestrated and free of stylistic clutter, are emotional, sensual and mysterious.

Ron Carter, a true gentleman, is always present but prefers leaving the stage to Passos. Even if this seems a little inappropriate in the context of quiet tones: Rosa Passos sings spectacularly, with enormous presence and thus leaves

the songs no chance of drifting into superficiality or developing an elevator sound mentality. Incidentally, the legendary David Chesky took over the production. The sound is vivid and extremely airy. You feel as if you are sitting right next to

Carter's acoustic bass, while delicate percussion accompanies Passo's involving vocals.
