Stan Getz - Live at Zardi's 1956, Vol. II / 2LP The Lost Recordings

On June 22 and 27, 1959, Stan Getz and his quartet gave two legendary concerts at a famous club on Hollywood Boulevard: Zardi's Jazzland. The recordings of these performances remained unreleased on vinyl – until now!

In the spring of 2025, after almost 70 years, the musical treasure hunters from The Lost Recordings stumbled upon the original tapes of these concerts in a suburb of Chicago. The set list is varied, but the lineup is identical:

pianist Lou Levy, who brilliantly represented the West Coast sound and whose style perfectly matched Getz's burgeoning forms of inspiration at the time, Max Bennett on bass and Gary Frommer on drums. Here, Getz conveys

the gentle atmosphere and cool vibe that he and his audience loved so much. On June 27, Stan Getz played 14 songs. From the irresistible ballad “Little Girl Blue” to the Afro-Cuban theme “A Night in Tunisia” composed by

Dizzy Gillespie to Gershwin's “Summertime,” every single note was filled with inspiration.

The Lost Recordings is proud to present the complete version of these legendary concerts for the first time: the meticulously restored recordings are being released as strictly limited and hand-numbered double LPs (33 RPM)

on 180-gram vinyl, with each edition limited to 4,000 copies. Sound wizard Kevin Gray himself is responsible for the lacquer cuts.
