The Dave Brubeck Quartet recorded this album in 1959 and Columbia Records was initially less than enthusiastic. Brubeck had ventured away from the classical 3/4 and 4/4 time and actively tried new things.
The result was enormously successful and, contrary to the opinion of critics at the time, not a betrayal of jazz. Or to put it flippantly: The album is really good, although so many people like it. The album also
contains the famous piece "Take Five" by Paul Desmond.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
