Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison already knew each other from UCLA film school. The organist and the singer formed the band "The Doors" when the two met again on the beach in Venice,

California in the summer of 1965. Manzarek was enthralled by Morrison's poetic talent and after a legendary performance at the Whisky-a-Go-Go on the Sunset Strip, the "Doors" had their

first recording contract with Elektra Records. One of the best debut albums in rock history was created and produced a whole series of hit singles. Apart from the great "Light My Fire", titles like

"Break on Through", "The Chrystal Ship" and the legendary "The End" should of course be mentioned here.
