When musician and hi-fi pro Lou Hinkley approached Gary Koh of Genesis Advanced Technology (GAT) about organizing the Pacific Audio Fest in the Seattle area, GAT offered to sponsor a big band.

The Paul Sawtelle Big Band gratefully accepted this offer to come together again after the forced break due to the COVID pandemic. The performance of the Academia Award-winning saxophonist Sawtelle

and his big band, together with singers Bethany Wilson and Jeff Carter, at the Pacific Audio Fest 2022 was full of enthusiasm and was therefore celebrated frenetically by the audience. This is how the story

of a recording began that would exceed all expectations the following year...

Due to the great demand, the Paul Sawtelle Big Band was invited to perform again at the Pacific Audio Fest in 2023. The band gave it their all, the audience went wild, and Hyper Analogue Productions and

Brilliance Music captured the whole thing on tape – on a Nagra IV-S, with a pair of vintage Neumann TLM50 microphones on SM900 at 15 ips. The recording was so good that Bernie Grundman was hired to

do the mastering. The lacquer discs were cut directly from the 2-track tape. Fidelity Record Pressing and Paramount Plating handled the production.

180-gram double LP: The exclusive One-Step pressing was cut at 45 RPM and comes in a lavish deluxe gatefold cover from Stoughton Printing – including a 36-page book. There will be no reissue or re-release
