In 1989, guitarist and multi-string instrumentalist Göran Wennerbrandt founded the band Tiny Island. From 1993 onwards, Tiny Island, in the course of its very close collaboration with Eric Bibb as his backing band
with the same line-up, performed under the name “Needed Time.” Wennerbrandt is also the executive producer of the two Bibb albums “Spirit And The Blues” and “Good Stuff.” Tiny Island's purely instrumental and
difficult-to-categorize music is influenced by blues, calypso, a pinch of Buena Vista Social Club, oriental elements and Nordic moods. In addition to the band members' own compositions, there is also a magnificent
cover version of Taj Mahal's “When I Feel The Sea Beneath My Soul.”
“The recordings were made from November 1998 onwards in an old stone church in the Swedish countryside. Opus 3 boss Jan-Eric Persson recorded the sessions on a Telefunken M28-C with minimal miking: two mics
in a 90-degree Blumlein arrangement, with only the acoustic double bass receiving additional ”support." The pieces are correspondingly intimate, holistic, and atmospheric, and in combination with the catchy, contemplative
melodies penned by the band themselves and without any kitsch, they seem like messengers from a more wholesome, peaceful world, comforting us in the face of current impositions. The 180-gram pressings, with almost
no background noise, make listening again – or getting to know them for the first time – perfect." (Matthias Böde, STEREO (4/2023)
The double HQ-LP (180-gram vinyl, 45 RPM), which boasts outstanding sound quality, was pressed by Optimal Media. Andreas “Lupo” Lubich (Calyx Mastering, Berlin) is responsible for the lacquer disc cutting.

Opus 3 is an independent Swedish music label dedicated to recording timeless acoustic music such as jazz, blues, folk and classical. Founded in late 1976 by sound engineer Jan-Eric Persson, the label has made it its mission
to reproduce voices and instruments as naturally as possible. To achieve this, Opus 3 selects recording environments with good natural. The label's recording techniques were developed specifically for acoustic music and were
originally based on the use of tube gear and “Blumlein” miking. In 2001, Opus 3 switched to digital eight-track technology and later to 16 channels – in the brand-new mixing and mastering studio designed and set up by Sweden's
leading acoustic engineer Lennart Nilsson to mark the label's 30th anniversary. Apart from a few digital intermediate steps all processing is still done exclusively analog.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
