Sound engineer Jan-Eric Persson has realized a long-cherished dream and produced an album with original Beatle Tony Sheridan. After a total of five years in production, “Tony Sheridan...And Opus 3 Artists” has been completed.
Tony Sheridan wrote the album opener with none other than Paul McCartney – a track that has never been released before. The remaining 11 songs were all penned by Tony Sheridan. He sings on three tracks, while the other nine
feature artists from Opus 3 Records such as Maria Winther, Bottleneck John, Yamina, Therese Mercedes Myrhed, Nick Malmeström and Roger Ekman.
“No doubt about it: this is one of the most important and ambitious albums in the label's history.” (Hörerlebnis 105, Klangtipp)
Lothar Brandt, AUDIO 5/2018, “Audiophile CD of the Month”: "Audiophiles have appreciated the Swedish label Opus 3 for 40 years. The latest Opus 3 coup is songs penned by Tony Sheridan. Every Beatles fan knows the British singer
and guitarist (1940-2013) – he recorded “My Bonnie” in Hamburg with their early release Beat Brothers. The veteran was able to record four songs with Opus 3 musicians, including “Tell Me If You Can,” written with Paul McCartney, which
has never been released before. For this reason alone, this SACD is a must-have!"
The LP (180-gram vinyl, 33 RPM), which boasts outstanding sound quality, was pressed by Optimal Media. Andreas “Lupo” Lubich (Calyx Mastering, Berlin) is responsible for the lacquer disc cutting.

Opus 3 is an independent Swedish music label dedicated to recording timeless acoustic music such as jazz, blues, folk and classical. Founded in late 1976 by sound engineer Jan-Eric Persson, the label has made it its mission to reproduce voices
and instruments as naturally as possible. To achieve this, Opus 3 selects recording environments with good natural. The label's recording techniques were developed specifically for acoustic music and were originally based on the use of tube gear
and “Blumlein” miking. In 2001, Opus 3 switched to digital eight-track technology and later to 16 channels – in the brand-new mixing and mastering studio designed and set up by Sweden's leading acoustic engineer Lennart Nilsson to mark the
label's 30th anniversary. Apart from a few digital intermediate steps all processing is still done exclusively analog.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
