Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio - What A Wonderful World / 2LP Venus Records

Since his astonishing debut in 1974 on the Three Blind Mice label, Japanese pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto has been a household name among jazz fans and audiophile music lovers around the world.

Together with his trio, which also includes Hiroshi Kagawa (bass) and Hisao Osumi (drums), he has enjoyed a career spanning four decades. This recording was made on November 24, 2013, at

Sony Music Studios in Tokyo, Japan. Just one day earlier, the trio had recorded ten more tracks, which were released under the title Gentle Blues. “What A Wonderful World” was produced, mixed and

mastered by legendary sound engineer Tetsuo Hara, who understands better than almost anyone else how to capture the special magic of this trio.

Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The prestigious label uses a special mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound”

for the strictly limited double LP of “What A Wonderful World”. The records are cut at 33 RPM and pressed on 180-gram vinyl, which produces a powerful, present sound and is highly appreciated by audiophiles

worldwide. A quick note: Venus LP reissues are only pressed once! Once the edition is sold out, the title is removed from the catalog and will not be reissued. Collectors should therefore not wait too long to place

their orders: all releases of the “Venus Masterpiece Collection” are extremely popular!
