Sunday at the Village Vanguard' is considered one of the finest live recordings in jazz history, recorded in New York City in June 1961. Pianist Bill Evans, bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian
wowed the audience that evening with a fine selection of standards and original compositions, peppered with first-class solos. The recording shows how Evans had refined his improvisational approach,
where the pulse was not as obvious as in swing and bop. And his exceptionally high standards demanded that every improvised melodic idea be developed extensively, resulting in more continuity and
tempo than was common in any previous modern style.Analogue Productions reissue this classic in top sound quality on Clarity vinyl, pressed as a double 45 rpm LP in a high quality jewel box with booklet.
The album has been remastered by Kevin Gray of Cohearent Audio.
The edition is limited to 5,000 copies.
