"Daphne and Chloe," Maurice Ravel's colorful ballet based on Longos' late-antique romance novel, is one of the greatest works of French music. Conductor Charles Munch devoted much of his career to Ravel's works,
and by performing the entire ballet score, he made "Daphne and Chloe" a single rounded work, held together not only thematically but also by its characteristic mood and color scheme. The recordings took place on January
23 and 24, 1955 at Boston Symphony Hall with the "Boston Symphony Orchestra".
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
