Charles Munch was the opposite of the “intellectual” school of French conductors, as embodied by Pierre Boulez. He was a totally spontaneous artist, which made him the great Berlioz conductor of our time

and literally anything could happen when he was on the podium. As a result, his Ravel is not the kind of hyper-precise, calculated interpretation that many fans of the composer expect. But that's why his recording

is so damn exciting. The pieces are cleverly chosen; they are the composer's most extroverted works, and Munch pulls out all the stops in his performances. A fantastic recording and a great memento of a unique artist!

The reissue of the “RCA Living Stereo Classical” series by Analogue Productions meets the highest audiophile standards: Matthew Lutthans (The Mastering Lab) is responsible for remastering the original tapes. The double LP

(45 RPM) includes a 2-page booklet and was pressed on 180-gram vinyl by industry leader Quality Record Pressings (QRP) using Classic Records equipment.

We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
