Frank Sinatra called Carol Kidd "the best kept secret of British jazz." The Glasgow-based singer gained international popularity as an audiophile artist in the 1980s with a series of successful Linn recordings.

"Both Sides Now" is a collection of jazz and pop standards, which she interprets with her incomparably velvety voice. The repertoire is complemented by two of her own titles, which she wrote together with Chris Anthony.
