Australian musician and composer Nicki Parrott is a true multi-talent: initially trained on the flute and piano, she later switched to the double bass, achieving mastery and great popularity on this instrument. She performed for many years at the

legendary Les Paul Sessions at the “Irdium Jazz Club” and in several successful Broadway ensembles, playing alongside pianist Rachel Z and her sister Lisa Parrott. On “Can't Take My Eyes Off You”, Nicki Parrott presents a beautiful collection

of romantic standards on this album for Venus Records. The star-studded band consists of her longtime collaborators: Harry Allen on tenor saxophone, her sister Lisa on alto saxophone, John Di Martino on piano, Alvin Atkinson on drums – and this

time Chuck Redd on vibraphone, who lends the ensemble a distinctive tone. Recorded in New York on March 23 and 24, 2011, the album was produced, mixed and mastered by Tetsuo Hara.

Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The label uses a special mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound” for the strictly limited double LP of “Can’t Take My Eyes

Off You”, cut at 33 RPM and pressed on 180-gram vinyl, which produces a powerful, present sound and is highly appreciated by audiophiles worldwide. A quick note: Venus LPs are only pressed once. Once the edition is sold out, the title is removed
