“Venus Audio Grade Records Selection Vol. 2” is a compilation of outstanding sound quality from Venus Records. Renowned Japanese audio journalist Yoshiyuki Ishida selected a very special selection from

the audiophile label's catalog for this compilation, saying: "The key point with this compilation is that both the music and the recording are outstanding. Just as one feels a uniquely satisfying sensation after a

delicious meal or after viewing a masterpiece in an art gallery, listening to good sound also provides a very special pleasure. The search for such sound is my goal in audio technology, and I refer to this process

as “audio perception.” When good music is added to this good sound, the feeling of well-being can double or even triple. When you listen to a piece of music, you actually enjoy both the music and the sound itself.

Jazz, for example, when listened to at a sufficient volume through speakers, is not background music, but demands direct, uncompromising attention. I call this true “jazz perception” and “audio perception.” .

It was no easy task to select just ten tracks from the extensive Venus catalog: all tracks are characterized by a freshness in the recording, a clear delineation of the sound through the distance between instruments and

microphones, and an excellent balance with reverberation – which underscores the brilliance of the recordings and performances."

All recordings on this compilation were produced, mixed, and mastered by legendary sound engineer Tetsuo Hara.

Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The prestigious label uses a special mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound” for the strictly

limited double LP of “Jazz”. The records are cut at 33 RPM and pressed on 180-gram vinyl, which produces a powerful, present sound and is highly appreciated by audiophiles worldwide. A quick note: Venus LP reissues

are only pressed once! Once the edition is sold out, the title is removed from the catalog and will not be reissued. Collectors should therefore not wait too long to place their orders: all releases of the “Venus Masterpiece Collection” are extremely popular!
