Eddie Higgins has played and recorded with many of the biggest names in jazz, including Coleman Hawkins, Jack Teagarden, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, Lee Morgan and Wayne Shorter. His discography as a

bandleader includes more than 25 recordings. The recording sessions for “My Funny Valentine” took place on September 11 and 12, 2004 at Avatar Studios in New York.

Venus Records was founded in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who had previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The label uses a mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound” – also for the strictly limited double

LP of “My Funny Valentine”, which is pressed on 180-gram vinyl and cut at 45 RPM. This special mastering produces a very powerful, present sound and is highly valued by audiophiles worldwide. A small note: Venus
