This recording by South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela is probably one of the most frequently heard demonstration discs at HiFi events. For "Hope," Masekela assembled a seven-piece band with whom he
recorded this live set at the Washington jazz club "Blues Alley." Together they play songs from nearly fifty years of musicianship, giving you goosebumps.Unlike an earlier LP version that contained seven songs,
this box set of four 45-rpm LPs contains the complete program as originally recorded, with all 12 tracks. Remastering for Analogue Productions was handled by Kevin Gray at his Cohearent Audio Studios. The box
also includes an insert with an interview conducted with David Hewitt, the album's original engineer.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
