The problem is well-known and still not perfectly solved: dirt accumulates on the diamond of the pick-up system and this reduces its scanning capability. The more dirt and dust accumulates, the more urgent cleaning becomes.

The special brush from Martina Schöner is the perfect tool for this. It has washable white brush hairs that are just stiff enough to scrape off dirt well and at the same time flexible enough not to bend the needle carrier. This works

equally well when dry or wet with needle cleaner. The rounded side of the brush is used to sweep from back to front. The bevelled brush side is used to clean the diamond laterally from left and right. A special illuminated loupe is

recommended for the best possible visual inspection of the pickup.

The model from L'Art du Son is made of full metal and uses two slightly offset LEDs for illumination without casting shadows. The magnifying glass with 6x magnification can be folded several times, so that the pickup can be easily

viewed from all sides and impurities can be detected. The black anodised surface reduces irritating stray light. Two button cells of the type CR927 (3 V) are pre-installed and can be easily changed by the owner. The magnifying glass

is supplied in a leatherette case.
