Humorous, tongue-in-cheek stories, often spun spontaneously in the studio, wrapped in real blues; this is what Texas blues singer and guitarist Sam Hopkins aka "Lightnin' Hopkins" is known and loved for.

On 1966's "Soul Blues," for example, he tells of a bearded man claiming to be Jesus Christ in "I'm Going to Build Me a Heaven of My Own," and takes on classics like Willie Dixon's "My Babe."
