Matthew Sweet – Girlfriend (Expanded Edition) / Intervention Records

The 1991 album "Girlfriend" was released after the divorce of alternative rocker Matthew Sweets and is full of strong emotions. Sweets himself said in an

interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, "It's funny that the album ends up showing everything I needed to feel. Everything I needed as an antidote is there."

In addition to the 15 tracks on the original CD, this hybrid SACD includes three demo tracks. The original tracks were mastered in DSD by Ryan K. Smith at

Sterling Sound. The bonus tracks are from Matthew Sweet's own archive and were recorded on DAT. Intervention's remaster delivers maximum bass and dynamics.
