Austrian singer Simone Kopmajer (formerly known as “Simone”) presents an extremely fresh and exciting encounter between classical music and jazz on her album released by Venus Records in 2012. Simone Kopmajer and artist Karolin Türk have

written lyrics to well-known classical melodies by Liszt, Chopin, Ravel, Bach and others, and recorded them together with talented Viennese musicians, including Karen Asatrian (piano), Anna Asatrian (violin), Raphael Preuschl (bass), Reinhardt Winkler

(drums) and Wolfgang Puschnig (flute, alto saxophone). Surprisingly, these new “songs” sound completely natural and even familiar, as if they were jazz standards. A fascinating jazz vocal album! “New Romance” was recorded from January 21 to 23, 2011,

at “4 Tune Audio Productions” in Vienna, Austria, and produced, mixed, and mastered by Tetsuo Hara.

Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The label uses a special mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound” for the strictly limited double LP of “New Romance”, cut at 33 RPM

and pressed on 180-gram vinyl, which produces a powerful, present sound and is highly appreciated by audiophiles worldwide. A quick note: Venus LPs are only pressed once. Once the edition is sold out, the title is removed from the catalog and will not be reissued.
