A legend of the rock and roll era, Buddy Holly is responsible for many of the most iconic and influential songs of his time. Three months after the release of 'The Chirping Crickets', this classic was released

under his own name in 1958, the last album to be released before Buddy's death at the age of 22 in a plane crash in Iowa in 1959.

To further enhance this classic, Analogue Productions first commissioned Kevin Gray of Cohearent Audio to remaster this version from the original analogue master tapes in the usual superb quality. The next

step was state of the art plating and pressing on 200g vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, renowned for their high quality pressing. A solid, old-style cover with a hand-applied printed sheet, recognisable by the

typical crease, supplemented by additional photos, by Stoughton Printing completes the picture.

Born on 7 September 1936 in Lubbock, Texas, Buddy Holly was well versed in a variety of musical styles and was an experienced stage musician by the age of 16. When Buddy Holly & the Crickets became nationally

known in 1957, Decca marketed them under two different names with two different subsidiaries - the Crickets' records with Brunswick, Holly's with Coral. There was no significant musical difference between the two,

except that the backing vocals on the Crickets' records were more prominent.

With this reissue we present Buddy Holly's debut album once again. It features Holly's top ten single "Peggy Sue" as well as several songs that have become standards: "I'm Gonna Love You Too", "Listen To Me", "

Everyday", "Words Of Love" and "Rave On".
