Since his astonishing debut in 1974 on the Three Blind Mice label, Japanese pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto has been a household name among jazz fans and audiophile music lovers around the world. Together with his trio,

which also includes Hiroshi Kagawa (bass) and Hisao Osumi (drums), he has enjoyed a career spanning four decades. This recording was made on November 16, 2019, at the ‘Jazz is’ bar in Yokohama, Japan, and transports

the listener into a fascinating world of sound. Yamamoto's unique sense of space and timing is even more evident live than on his already impressive studio albums. “Misty: Live At Jazz Is” was mixed and mastered by legendary

sound engineer Tetsuo Hara, who understands better than almost anyone else how to capture the special magic of this trio.

Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The prestigious label uses a special mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound” for the strictly limited double

LP of “Misty: Live At Jazz Is”. The records are cut at 33 RPM and pressed on 180-gram vinyl, which produces a powerful, present sound and is highly appreciated by audiophiles worldwide. A quick note: Venus LPs are only pressed once!

Venus LPs are pressed only once. After the first edition is sold out, the titles are removed from the catalog. Collectors should therefore consider a purchase in time.
