Valérie Milot, celebrated for “reinventing” the harp and discovering the power and timbres of this instrument, has built up a discography of more than 30 recordings and received many prestigious awards,
including the 2008 Prix d'Europe – the first harpist to do so in almost a century. After completing her master's degree with Caroline Lizotte, she graduated from the conservatory “with great distinction” and
continued her training with Rita Costanzi in New York. Since the beginning of her career, she has been named “Révélation de l'année Radio-Canada,” received several Prix Opus awards and been nominated
at the Gala de l'ADISQ. Guided by an artistic and humanitarian mission, the Canadian harpist echoes the beauty of music on “Nebulae.” Milot, who regularly collaborates with renowned orchestras (Les Violons du Roy,
Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Orchestre Métropolitain) and internationally renowned conductors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Bernard Labadie, says of Nebulae: “I wanted to create a meditative space in
which each interpretation invites the listener to reflect on our place in the cosmos.”
2xHD is proud to present “Nebulae” as an audiophile LP on high-quality 180-gram vinyl. The record was cut entirely analog at 33 RPM by Chris Bellmann at Bernie Grundman Mastering Lab and mastered by legendary
sound engineer René Laflamme. “Nebulae” was recorded in October 2024 at St. Joseph de Rivières des Prairies Church in Montréal, Canada.
René Laflamme, one of the most sought-after sound engineers in the industry, used high-quality Nagra equipment for the mastering. 2xHD, which he runs together with André Perry, founder of the famous “Le Studio” in
Québec, enjoys an excellent reputation and has rightly acquired an exceptional status in the high-end world. Laflamme's unique sound engineering skills are valued by many important players in the industry: for example,
he represents and advises sound pioneers such as Nagra and Kronos Audio.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
