Maurice Ravel's colorful ballet “Daphne & Chloe,” based on Longus' late antique romance novel, is one of the greatest works of French music. Throughout his career, conductor Charles Munch devoted himself intensively
to Ravel's works and, by performing the entire ballet score, turned “Daphne & Chloe” into a single, well-rounded work that is held together not only thematically but also by its characteristic mood and coloration. The recordings
were made on January 23 and 24, 1955, at Boston Symphony Hall with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
The reissue of the “RCA Living Stereo Classical” series by Analogue Productions meets the highest audiophile standards: Ryan K. Smith (Sterling Sound) is responsible for remastering the original tapes. The double LP
(45 RPM) includes a 2-page booklet and was pressed on 180-gram vinyl by industry leader Quality Record Pressings (QRP) using Classic Records equipment.
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
