With Homecoming (1972), America proved that their debut success was no fluke. The band – Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley, and Dan Peek – expanded their acoustic folk-pop foundation to create richer, more structured,
and timelessly melodic songs. The result is one of the definitive albums of that era – a sun-drenched blend of shimmering harmonies, optimism, and introspective songwriting. The album captured America's laid-back West
Coast vibe and cemented their place alongside Crosby, Stills & Nash and the Eagles in the pantheon of classic 70s rock harmonies. Homecoming reached No. 9 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart and was certified platinum
by the RIAA. It spawned three hit singles: “Ventura Highway,” “Don't Cross The River,” and “Only In Your Heart.” Several other album tracks received massive airplay on US FM radio stations, including “To Each His Own,”
“California Revisited,” and “Cornwall Blank.”
As part of its “Acoustic Sounds 40 Series,” Analogue Productions is now honoring this classic album with a collectible double LP: pressed on 180-gram vinyl by industry leader Quality Record Pressings (QRP), cut at 45 RPM
and housed in a luxurious tip-on gatefold jacket by Stoughton Printing. The elaborate and loving remastering from the original tapes ensures that this new edition offers sound quality that has never been heard before!
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
