With the 1969 album "In A Silent Way" and its successor "Bitches Brew," Miles Davis helped the still young style of fusion jazz achieve the recognition it deserved. Whereas trumpet and tenor saxophone had

previously determined the tension, electric guitar, synthesizers and effects units now found their way into the rehearsal and recording rooms. "In A Silent Way" redefined the possibilities of recording studios,

changed the artist-producer relationship and brought rock and jazz closer together. The band lineup included jazz greats John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zwainul, Wayne Shorter, Dave

Holland and Tony Williams.Williams' ingenuity, which makes the drums' cymbals shimmer like silver in the sunlight, Davis' nocturnal trumpet sounding close enough to touch in space, Shorter's sprawling saxophone

and Holland's bass combine to create one of the most atmospheric jazz albums ever recorded. The Mobile Fidelity remastering is released as a 180g vinyl LP with consecutive serial numbers. Krieg Wunderlich is
