Patricia Barber's sixth studio album, recorded in May 2000 at Chicago Recording Company's Studio 4, is a fascinating collection of classic jazz songs interpreted with her
inimitable downtempo intimacy. Working with her band at the time (bassist Michael Arnopol and drummer Adam Cruz, augmented by guitarist Charlie Hunter, bassist Marc Johnson
and drummer Adam Nussbaum), Barber creates an austere, almost oppressive sonic atmosphere over which engineer Jim Anderson layers her ghostly vocals. Like all great jazz albums,
"Nightclub" puts its artist front and center while allowing creative space for the collaborators to emphatically support her.
This one-step LP from Impex provides the perfect showcase for the interplay of musical artistry and technical perfection. "Nightclub" was originally recorded digitally by Anderson on a Sony
3348 multitrack and mixed to digital and analog mixdown masters via an analog Neve console. Bernie Grundman used the analog mixdown tapes to create a new analog edit master exclusively for this release.
The edition is limited to 7,500 copies. Gatefold cover in slipcase.

The normal process is you plate the lacquer to create what is known as a father. The lacquer is removed from the lacquer and used as a mold to create mothers.
You can create multiple mothers from a single father. The mother is used as mold to create the stamper plate which is called a matrix. This is 3 step process. Father -> Mother -> Stamper.
On "ONE STEP VINYL" skips the last 2 steps. The father is directly used as the stamper.
